Burn ban covers more than half of Oklahoma

We’re in for another roller coaster week with the weather.

Right now, more than half of the state is under a burn ban because of high wind and the threat of wildfires.

Governor Mary Fallin on Tuesday issued burn bans until Feb. 16 for 40 of the state's 77 counties.

Tulsa County is not included in that list.

The ban includes campfires and burning trash outdoors.

Natural gas grills, and charcoal-fired cooking outside in a grilling receptacle, are permitted, provided it's over a non-flammable surface and at least 5 feet from flammable vegetation.

Wednesday’s high expected to reach 70 degrees.
