Muskogee, Okla. — An effort is underway to get some dogs adopted in Muskogee. The Muskogee Animal Shelter says they recently took in 21 stray dogs, but a city law says they can only keep the animals for three business days. There is a lack of space at the shelter and employees want to avoid having to euthanize an animal that could become a good household pet. Longtime employees say they are in a unique situation and expect they could have even more canine residents after Memorial Day. We're told a good remedy for the shelter is for residents to adopt a pet, or find their missing animal.
