How to Reach Customer Service at Cash App, Zelle and PayPal

If you've ever tried to reach the customer service department at one of the popular money payment apps, you know how difficult it can be. It's easy to send money but not so easy to get help.

In this article, we’re going to show you how to contact Cash App, Zelle and PayPal.

Here’s How to Contact Cash App, Zelle and PayPal

These are the three payment apps I have downloaded on my phone. And if you’re like me, you have to be extra careful because it’s easy to send money to the wrong person.
Money expert Clark Howard says if you happen to send money to the wrong person using these apps, “generally, there’s no way to get it back.”
One reason for payment mistakes is because Cash App, Zelle and PayPal all allow you to sync your phone contacts. That means your friends, family and associates are all there just one false tap away.
If you ever make a mistake, here is how to contact Cash App, Zelle and PayPal.

Cash App Customer Service

Cash App Support page: cash.app/help

Cash App's support number: 1-855-351-2274

Details on how to reach customer support at Cash App: When I called Cash App's customer service number, an automated voice said: "To contact a Cash team member, please do so through your Cash App or by visiting cash.app/help. Live phone support is not generally available at this time."

While I couldn’t get anywhere with Cash App’s phone number, I did get the address.

You can write to Square, Cash App's parent company, at Square, Inc, 1455 Market Street, Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94110.

In the terms of service, Cash App asks customers who want to resolve disputes to contact the American Arbitration Association, which is an organization that facilitates arbitration claims between parties for a fee.

Zelle Customer Service

Zelle Support Page: zellepay.com/support/contact

Zelle's Support Number: 1-844-428-8542

Details on how to reach customer support at Zelle: When I reached out to Zelle, the phone number listed (1-844-428-8542) worked basically as a landing page. The automated voice gave you only two options and hung up even after I pressed one of them.

Contact Zelle by email: customerservice@zellepay.com.

Contact Zelle by mail: You can write to Zelle at this address: 16552 N. 90th Street, Scottsdale, Arizona 85260, Attn: [ZELLEPAY].

Note: If you find an error on your bank statement or receipt, Zelle asks that you contact the company no later than 90 days after you discover it.

Also the company says in its terms of service that, "If you tell us verbally, we may require that you send us your complaint or question in writing within ten (10) business days."

PayPal Customer Service

PayPal Support Page (Help Center): paypal.com/us/smarthelp/home

PayPal's Support Number: 1-888-221-1161

Details on how to reach PayPal's customer service: When I called PayPal's customer service number (1-888-221-1161), an automated voice on the other end said: "Customer service representatives may not be available for service. You may receive faster help by visiting our Help Center and sending us a message."

I also had to enter the last four digits of my Social Security number. During the voice prompts, I said, "connect me to customer service." After a while, I was able to speak to a real person at PayPal. Wait time: 8 minutes.

If you log onto your PayPal account online or in the app, the company also offers three other support resources, including:

Takeaway

The contact methods listed above are the only ones that Cash App, Zelle and PayPal offer their customers. As you can see, I was able to speak to a real person only at PayPal.
Because their customer assistance is so limited, Clark says if you’re going to use these money payment apps, you should protect yourself by opening a separate checking account that connects to them.
“Leaving it tied into your main checking account is really risky today with the ability of criminals to crack the code on usernames and passwords,” he says.
Clark also suggests that when it comes to payment app transactions, you should use a credit card because they have more robust customer protections than debit cards.
