Sonji Milburn is tenacious, hardworking, and not afraid of a challenge! She joined the FOX23 team in March 2021 as a multi-media journalist. Sonji was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 2017. By faith, Sonji traded in the big city for the Midwest. She started her journalism career in Missoula, Montana. After covering floods and fires, she then moved to Bismarck, North Dakota, where she focused on health, education, and Native American culture. Sonji was trained by the legendary Trudy Haynes, who is the nation's first African American TV weather reporter and the first African American TV news reporter in Philadelphia.
