Michele White, FOX23 News
Michele White reported in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for KWWL and for both FOX/ABC and KTUU in Anchorage. She also worked as a reporter for two years at KOMU in Columbia, Mo.
Michele also wrote as a freelance writer for several newspapers and magazines in Alaska. Her story, "Climbing Denali in January," for Last Frontier Magazine won an Alaska Press Club award for Best Outdoors Story, All Media in 2016. Some career highlights include reporting on an avalanche using just a cell phone on the side of a mountain, following a recall petition that made it to the Alaska Supreme Court and working on a sex trafficking investigation that turned into an hour-long newscast special.
Originally from Boston, Michele earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree from the Missouri School of Journalism, with a minor in French. During her college years, Michele interned with the I-Team at CBS Boston and produced for the Sunrise Show at Sky News in London, while studying abroad. Speaking French, Michele interviewed a member of the French National Assembly about a law being authored over religious freedoms.
Michele competed in the 2020 Miss Alaska for America Strong pageant and was awarded the Woman of Achievement Award. Michele held the title of Miss Iowa for America Strong 2021 and competed for the national in Las Vegas under the platform “Love Yourself First”. During her time as Miss Iowa, she traveled to Mayfield, Kentucky to help with relief efforts after a tornado.
Michele enjoys skiing, hiking and traveling to National Parks. She also likes to play the piano, read and do Pilates and ballet. She looks forward to exploring the museums and food scene in Tulsa, when she isn't reporting and plans to pursue her MBA.
