City of Bixby confirms arrest of city manager, announces interim leadership

BIXBY, Okla. — The City of Bixby has confirmed the arrest of City Manager Joey Wiedel and appointed an acting city manager.

The City said that “the incident did occur,” but didn’t provide additional details regarding his arrest.

Wiedel has been suspended from his duties as city manager, and the City announced that during this time, Bixby Police Chief Todd Blish will serve as acting city manager.

The City shared the following statement in part:

“The City will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as appropriate. No further information is available for release at this time.”

KRMG and FOX23 confirm that Wiedel was taken into custody on a DUI complaint.

Inmate records show that Wiedel was booked into the Wagoner County jail just after 1:00 AM Tuesday, and released some thirteen hours later.
