Quantum Space has appointed former NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a major leadership shift as the company pushes deeper into national‑security space operations.

Bridenstine, a former Tulsa congressman and naval aviator, steps in at a moment when the company is scaling rapidly and positioning its flagship Ranger spacecraft as a key asset for U.S. defense.

Bridenstine framed the company’s mission around what he called the “Theory of Competitive Endurance,” emphasizing the need for maneuverability, unpredictability, and sustained operations in orbit. He highlighted Ranger’s modular design, refuelability, and long‑duration maneuvering as central to meeting modern military space requirements.

Quantum Space co‑founder and Executive Chairman Kam Ghaffarian praised Bridenstine’s track record shaping major government–commercial partnerships at NASA, including the Artemis Program. Co‑founder and President Kerry Wisnosky will continue leading operations and spacecraft development.

The announcement follows a period of significant momentum for the company: an $80 million Series A, completion of a Manufacturing Readiness Review for the first Ranger Prime mission (targeting launch no earlier than Q2 2027), and the acquisition of multi‑mode propulsion technology that gives Ranger both high‑thrust and high‑efficiency maneuvering capabilities.

Quantum Space is pitching Ranger as a versatile platform for missions across LEO, MEO, GEO, and cislunar space, with applications ranging from space domain awareness to satellite life extension and on‑orbit refueling.
