Mass shooting at Arcadia Lake leaves 23 people injured

EDMOND, Okla. — The Edmond Police Department are currently investigating the shooting at Arcadia Lake near the Scissortail Campground Sunday night.

According to police, the shooting was reported just after 9 p.m. on Sunday. The incident occurred during what they say was an unsanctioned party that started after dark and was advertised across social media, drawing a large crowd of young adults across the metro.

Police say approximately 23 people have been identified with injuries ranging in severity, including gunshot wounds. They say several were taken to area hospitals, while others sought treatment on their own.

Governor Kevin Stitt released a statement on social media:

“I have been in contact with the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, and what happened at Arcadia Lake is unacceptable. This kind of violence has no place in Oklahoma, and we will not tolerate it in our communities. We will find those responsible and hold them fully accountable.”
