MUSKOGEE, Okla. — The City of Muskogee and Visit Muskogee announced minor-league professional basketball team Skykings has relocated to Muskogee.
Formerly called the Western Oklahoma Skykings, the team will now compete as the Muskogee Skykings.
“We are incredibly excited to plant our roots in Muskogee,” said Skykings owner Jonathan Reed. “This isn’t just about moving a team; it’s about becoming a part of this city. Muskogee has a rich history and a passionate community, and we believe the Skykings will provide the high-energy, family-friendly entertainment that sports fans here deserve. We are here to stay.”
The Muskogee Skykings revealed a new logo following their relocation. The team’s official colors will now be black, gold and white and their logo will feature an eagle holding a basketball wreathed in flames.
The team’s home games will be held at the Ron D. Milam gym on the Muskogee High School campus.
At this time, the Muskogee Skykings are finalizing their upcoming season schedule. However, season ticket packages and sponsorship opportunities are available.
Reed said, “We invite the entire Muskogee community to join us for our inaugural season. Together, we are going to build something special. It’s time to fly!”
