Donald Trump released a second version of his birth certificate on Tuesday (March 29th), one day after making public what he originally said was the document, but turned out not to be the official one, but just a piece of paper given to his parents by the Queens, New York, hospital where he was born.
Trump yesterday gave ABC News a New York City-issued birth certificate from microfilm.
Trump released the documents as part of his new-found foray into birtherism -- the repeatedly debunked belief among some that President Obama wasn't born in the United States -- as he mulls a run for the Republican presidential nomination.
Trump has been making the media rounds over the last couple of weeks loudly declaring his doubts about where Obama was born. At the same, an aide to Trump, Michael Cohen, told CBS News that the real estate mogul and reality TV star would focus on more important issues if he decides later this year to run for president.
