Tasha Ball of TashaDoesTulsa.com joins us each Friday with the most exciting weekend events and art, music, free stuff to do and fun for the kids in Tulsa.

For the Fam

  • Show and Tell with Peter Bedgood. Remember the variety show? Did you know we have one right here in Tulsa? We do, and it's awesome. Be part of the audience tonight as the show is shot for TV and family friendly fun and a showcase of Tulsa's talents ensues. 6pm, VFW Post downtown.
  • Drillers Fest. Whet your appetite for baseball season, spend time with the kids and get your first opportunity to purchase individual tickets for all 70 Drillers home games this year (including the famous Thirsty Thursday games and the 13 fireworks shows) at the same time on Saturday. 10am-2pm, ONEOK Field.
  • NCAA Tournament and Downtown Basketball Bash. As you might have heard, Tulsa's hosting a little thing called the NCAA Tournament. Today's sessions will be ready to tip off at the BOK Center at 11:15 and 5:30, and even though Sunday's teams and times haven't yet been announced, that's no reason not to go ahead and get excited about the day's events, right? Plus, there’s still time to round up some tickets. If you and the fam are looking for something to do between match-ups, check out the 14,000-square-foot Downtown Basketball Bash tent just across the street from the BOK Center. Inside will be eight 70-inch HD TVs, beer from McNellie’s, food from Mazzio’s and Rib Crib and a family-friendly good time. Friday and Sunday, 2nd and Denver.
  • Go Wild, Fly High and Pain the Town Red. If you have a members hip at Tulsa Zoo, Tulsa Air and Space Museum or Philbook Museum of Art, then today you can get into any of the other two Tulsa museums for 50 percent of the admission price. Score!
  • Full Moon Walk. Walk the trail at Oxley Nature Center in the moonlight tonight and feel the difference in the “spring” of the earth beneath your feet. Reservations are required; call (918) 669-6644 to save your spot. Cost is $2. Tonight, 7pm.
  • Free Sunday at Price Tower. Get free admission and hands-on crafts for family members of all ages today at Price Tower Arts Center in Bartlesville. At this month’s event, make origami. Sunday, 12-5pm.

Music and More

  • Brookside Music Crawl. Crawl from restaurant to bar to cafe along Brookside tonight while listening to some of the best original music Tulsa has to offer, all of it live and most of it free – a total of 11 acts in five venues along one of Tulsa’s favorite entertainment strips. Tonight, 8pm.
  • Tickets on Sale: Foo Fighters. They're coming to Tulsa's BOK Center May 17 and Saturday morning is your first chance at tickets. BOK Center, 10am.
  • National Fiddler Hall of Fame Concert Featuring The Greencards. Major Franklin, Eck Robertson and Chubby Wise will be inducted into the National Fiddler Hall of Fame at this concert featuring The Greencards, with opening act The A Bar Bunkhouse Band. Saturday, 7pm, Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
  • Rebecca Ungerman: She Writes the Songs: A Celebration of Jazz's Greatest Women Sonwriters. One of Tulsa’s top musical artists takes her turn at the center of the stage with what promises to be one of the best shows of the season at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. Joining Ms. Ungerman will be the Frank Brown Trio. Sunday, Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 5pm.
  • Tulsa International Auto Show. See all of your favorite makes and models in world-class factory presentations, plus pre-production models, new models, feature vehicles, vintage and classic cars, all in one place and in one weekend. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid parent. Today, Saturday and Sunday, Expo Square.

Movies

  • Limitless. You know how they say we can only access 20 percent of our brains? If you could take a pill that would allow you to access all of it, would you? And potentially at the cost of making an enemy of Robert DeNiro? This movie explores that choice. Also starring Bradley Cooper.
  • The Lincoln Lawyer. Matthew McConaughey and his southern drawl star in this film about a criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln sedan – that is, until he takes on what seemed like a garden-variety case that turns into a deadly game of survival. Also starring Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe, William H. Macy and John Leguizamo.
  • Paul. A pair of sci-fi geeks who encounter a rude and crude alien voiced by Seth Rogen on an insane road trip through America’s UFO heartland.
  • Also in theaters: Battle: Los Angeles, Rango, Red Riding Hood, The Adjustment Bureau, Mars Needs Moms, Hall Pass, Beastly, Just Go With It, The King’s Speech, Gnomeo & Juliet.
