Donald Trump Apparently Leans Birther

  • comment(7)

Is being a birther part of the path towards winning the GOP presidential nomination?

Maybe that's what Donald Trump thinks, since the real estate mogul and reality TV star who's been making a lot of noise about running for president in 2012 as a Republican has revealed his birther leanings.

In an interview yesterday (March 17th) on ABC's Good Morning America, Trump said about President Obama growing up in Hawaii, "The reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him. You may go back and interview people from my kindergarten. They'll remember me. Nobody comes forward. Nobody knows who he is until later in his life. It's very strange. The whole thing is very strange." Trump also declared that anyone who says anything about not believing Obama was born in Hawaii, quote, "they label them as an idiot."

QUESTIONS:

  • What do you think about Trump going birther and his claim that nobody knew Obama until later in his life?
  • Do you think someone who talks about not believing Obama was born in Hawaii could be elected president? Could they win the GOP nomination?
  • Do you think Trump really intends to run for president, or do you think this is all about his never-ending quest for publicity?
  • What do you think of the idea of Trump running for president?
