Tulsa Gridiron 2011. The Tulsa Gridiron has been turning up the heat on Tulsa newsmakers since 1933, and this year the show, titled "Survivor: City Hall, or Goodness, Gracious, Great Tar Balls of Fire," features skits and song parodies written and performed by some seriously talented folks. Rebecca Ungerman directs, County Commissioner Karen Keith is interlocutor, and the Tulsa Gridiron Roasting Ear Award will be presented to City Council Chairman Rick Westcott. Friday and Saturday, 8pm, Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
Kids and Families
Akdar Shrine Circus. Clowns, elephants, camel rides, high wire performers and a man being shot out of a canon - it's almost more than a kid can take, and it's all available at the Pavilion at Expo Square this weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Date Night Ideas
Cirque du Soleil - Alegria. More than 10 million people have seen this classic Cirque du Soleil production that features a cast of 55 as they perform breath-taking aerobatics, and this weekend you can see it in Tulsa. Play hooky to see it today, or catch it tonight, Saturday or Sunday at BOK Center.
New Genre Arts Festival XVIII. Catch a variety of contemporary art installations, exhibits and performances this weekend at a variety of venues, all thanks to Living Arts of Tulsa - check TashaDoesTulsa.com for places, times and other details.
Deco Ball 2011. Grab your top hats and pearls and head out to enjoy an evening of jazz and swing music by local musicians like Annie Ellicott and saxophonist Denny Morouse, live dance numbers, an art deco gallery and more, all in support of an Art Deco Museum for the Tulsa community. Saturday, 7:30pm, ONG Building in downtown Tulsa.
Tulsa Opera: Don Giovanni. Tulsa Opera brings the classic tale of that Don Juan Don Giovanni to Tulsa Performing Arts Center for the second weekend, offering showings Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
Movies
Drive Angry 3D. Nicolas Cage plays a felon who breaks out of hell on a high-speed pursuit of the bloodthristy cult that killed his daughter in what's probably the most relatable movie ever.
Hall Pass. Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis are best friends who are granted one week of freedom from their wives, no questions asked. Sounds like a reverse psychology backfire waiting to happen to me.
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never: The Director's Fan Cut. Not only do fans get 40 new minutes of footage in this re-release of the Justin Bieber movie, but they also get another subtitle, too. Bonus!
Also in theaters: Unknown, I Am Number Four, Gnomeo & Juliet, Just Go With It, Big Momma's: Like Father, Like Son; Justin Bieber: Never Say Never; The King's Speech; The Roommate; The Eagle; No Strings Attached.
Midnight Movie: Death Race 2000. See the awesomely bad 1975 film Death Race 2000 on the big screen this weekend, and while wearing your jammies, to boot - it's the monthly Midnight Movie night at Circle Cinema, a Tulsa tradition. Friday and Saturday night.
Night at the Oscars. Dress to compete with what's going on on the huge screen at Joe Momma's downtown, take a walk down the red carpet they'll have set up there, indulge in some swanky snacks and settle in for an evening of heavily critiquing people you've never met on Sunday evening with the Night at the Oscars event.
Academy Awards Showing at Circle Cinema. If you want to see the Academy Awards on a movie screen this year, and at absolutely no cost, Circle Cinema has you covered. Be there Sunday at 7pm.
