Plan your weekend here with TashaDoesTulsa.com

By Rick Couri, KRMG Sports director

Tasha Ball of TashaDoesTulsa.com joins us each Friday with the most exciting weekend events in Tulsa.

Music
Elton John and Leon Russell. It's the show we've all been waiting for - These legends come together for a night on the stage at BOK Center, and the show gets started tonight at 8pm.
Gretchen Wilson. The Redneck Woman is at the Osage Event Center tonight, and she'll get started at 7pm.
Mannheim Steamroller. America's favorite Christmas act comes to the Bartlesville Community Center for a 25th anniversary show this Sunday. The show gets started at 4pm.
Sam Harris. He returns to the Signature Symphony stage at the TCC PACE for a one-night show, and it all benefits the Symphony at TCC. Sunday, 7pm.
Tulsa Symphony: A Virtuosity of Our Own. Never seen the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra before? Don't pass up the opportunity to see them Saturday night at the Performing Arts Center downtown, where it'll be playing the classics of Mozart, Strauss and others. 7:30pm.
Ryan & Ryan Piano Duo. End the weekend with jazz by heading to the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame Sunday at 5pm for a show from the Ryan & Ryan Piano Duo. Bonus: Tickets start at just $15.
Opera Underground. If you think opera is irrelevant in todays fast-paced, gimme-now culture, think again. Hear the talent of Tulsa Opera as they drop in at Il Bacio, a hip, new south Tulsa win bar, to give you a preview of what you can expect when you see them on stage in Don Giovanni. 6pm.

For the Fam
Tulsa Dog Walk and Pet Fair. Get a one-mile dog walk followed by a pet fair, food, a kid zone, and live music by one of my favorite local band The Zuits at LaFortune Park Gardens (between Yale and Hudson off of 51st Street) this Saturday. The event raises money for Tulsa SPCA. 10am-2pm.
2nd Annual Bark Park Toy Drive. Bring any new, unwrapped toys, canned or non-perishable foods and new or gently used warm clothing to the Bark Park on Charles Page Boulevard this Saturday from 10am-4pm. It all benefits the Salvation Army.
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. See the C.S. Lewis classic come to life on the Tulsa Little Theatre stage this weekend. Shows are Friday and Saturday, 7:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 2pm.
Bats Alive! An Evening in the Rainforest. Discover the nocturnal creatures of the tropical rainforest with your family tonight - just try to keep them out of your hair. All ages are welcome, and kids 3 and under get in free. 7pm.
Special Screening of the Director's Cut of The Velveteen Rabbit. Families all over American are helping to set a world record of 1 million kids viewing and reviewing the same film on the same weekend together, so grab the family and head to Rudisill Regioinal Library, Hardesty Regional Library or Charles Page Library and catch this free screening of the children's classic. Plus, kids submitting an online review have a chance to win a $10,000 college scholarship.
Free Second Saturday at Philbrook. Enjoy free admission and a ton of artsy activities for the kids at this world-class museum all day on Saturday. Get around early, though, because parking gets tough. Starts Saturday at 10am.

Other Stuff
McNellie's Pub Run. Think you can run four miles and down three pints of GuinnessĀ  at the same time? Show off your stuff at this timed run in downtown Tulsa Saturday afternoon, starting at 3pm. Register at mcnelliespubrun.com.
Hafli Food Festival. Love authentic Lebanese food? Get it at the St. Antony Christian Church Hafli Food Festival, which will feature a gourmet dinner and bake sale. Adult plates are $15, kids are $5. Today-Sunday - check KRMG.com for times.
Xtreme Fight Night. Sometimes you just feel like a good fight. Get it tonight at The Joint, the new event venue at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Catoosa. With a special appearance by Sugar Ray Leonard. 8pm.
Tulsa Gun Show. Like things that go boom? Get hundreds of tables of the things at Expo Square Saturday and Sunday in the QuikTrip Center.
Tulsa Flea Market. While you're at the gun show, mosey on over and check out Tulsa Flea Market. I've seen everything there from teal snakeskin leather boots to unicycles to pure-bred puppies. Definitely worth seeing. 8am-4pm, Quiktrip Center.

Movies
Morning Glory. Rachel McAdams plays a hard-working TV producer who is fired from her local new program and then stumbles into a job at the last-place national morning news show, only to fall in love with her fellow producer. Of course, calamity ensues, but we all love Rachel McAdams, right?
Skyline. Uh-oh, the aliens are back! This time they descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing the citizens of Earth out like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire population off the face of the planet.
Unstoppable. Denzel Washington stars as a veteran engineer who must collaborate with a young conductor to try to stop a half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out a nearby city.
Also in theaters: Megamind with Will Farrell and Brad Pitt, Due Date with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis and For Colored Girls starring Janet Jackson.
