  • MLK Day - federal, state and city offices closed today. No mail service. MLK  Parade begins at 11am at Pine and Greenwood.
  • 6 days after Haiti's devastating earthquake, chaos sets in. Reports of looters executed by police. Rescue crews attempt to pull more survivors from crumbled buildings. The smell of death permeates the air. Armed gangs of survivors battle for limited food, water. Clash over Haiti aid flights; French blame USA over medical delays; Anarchy: Lynch mobs turn on looters; CNN's Gupta steps in for fleeing doctors; Luxury liners are still docking at private beaches near Haiti's devastated earthquake zone.
  • The KRMG Morning News will broadcast from the American Red Cross command center in Tulsa tomorrow morning as we raise funds for both earthquake relief and to replenish Tulsa resources that have been allocated to Haiti.
  • A terminal at JFK airport evacuated yesterday after a man who had just returned from Haiti 'accidentally' walks into secure area without being screened.
  • Tulsa firefighters tell us Mayor Bartlett opening formal contract negotiations this week.

  • CRIME: Tulsa police are investigating a string of armed robberies that happened between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
  • TPD searching for suspects who robbed the Walgreens at 31st and Harvard Sunday morning at 6am. Two men entered the store, demanded money and drugs. A customer walked into the store at the time of the robbery and while one of the robbers was distracted, the customer took his gun away from him. The two men ran away from the scene, but not before shooting at least one store camera.
  • Heckler removed during President Obama's speech at Coakley event
  • Special election in Massachusetts tomorrow to fill the late Ted Kennedy's seat. Republican Scott Brown has very real chance of defeating Democrat Martha Coakley. Rep. Patrick Kennedy (Ted's son), mentioned Coakley repeatedly during his remarks to reporters, each time referring to her as "Marcia," not "Martha."
  • MSNBC Host Ed Schultz: I'd Cheat To Keep Brown From Winning...
  • NY Times: Wall Street's main lobbying arm has hired a top Supreme Court litigator to study a possible legal battle against a bank tax proposed by the Obama administration, on the theory that it would be unconstitutional,
  • Avatar wins Golden Globe for Best Drama, Director for James Cameron. Had a $41.3M weekend to pass "Star Wars" as the No. 3 movie on the all-time domestic box office charts. Next stop, "The Dark Knight." No. 1 for the 5th weekend. Worldwide, "Avatar" lifted its total to $1.6 billion, second only to Cameron's last movie, 1997's "Titanic," at $1.8 billion.
  • Dallas Cowboys fall to Brett Favre's MN Vikings, 34-3.
  • AFC final 2pm Sunday - NY Jets at Indianapolis Colts
  • NFC final 5:40pm Sunday - MN Vikings at New Orleans
  • NBC's SNL parodies NBC's late night comic battle in opening skit. Sources say Conan, NBC close to a deal that would have Conan walk with $30-$40M.
  • Allegations of police brutality will cost city hall more than $250,000. The lawsuit named the City of Tulsa and 4 Tulsa police officers. It was settled this week.
