  • The 35 laid off Tulsa police officers who have been rehired now that some federal grant money has been shifted around, should be returning to work no later than the middle of March.
  • Today: 100 members of the Smoke Free Coalition will head to the state capitol to try and convince lawmakers to ban ALL smoking in bars and restaurants in Oklahoma.

  • I-44 bridge near 161 East Avenue CLOSED in both directions overnight last night and again tonight in an attempt to expedite repairs of the crumbling bridge.

  • City of Owasso joins Tulsa in banning employees from texting while driving.
  • Former vice president Richard B. Cheney was hospitalized Monday at George Washington University Hospital after suffering from chest pains, his office said. NBC News reported that Cheney, 69, underwent an angiogram -- a procedure allowing doctors to examine blood flow in an artery. Doctors described his condition to the network as stable.
  • Federal prosecutors have opened a potential CRIMINAL investigation into Toyota's safety problems. The 1st of several Congressional hearings on Toyota safety issues opens today. Meanwhile, Toyota adds more cars to the recall list - The additional vehicles: 2005-2010 model year Tacoma pickups, the 2009-10 Venza wagons and the 2008-10 Sequoia SUVs.
  • A rare copy of the first comic book featuring Superman sold Monday for $1 million, smashing the previous record price for a comic book. A 1938 edition of Action Comics No. 1, widely considered the Holy Grail of comic books, was sold from a private seller to a private buyer, neither of whom released their names. The issue features Superman lifting a car on its cover and originally cost 10 cents.
  • The leading group of pediatricians in the United States is pushing for a redesign of common foods such as hot dogs and candies, along with new warning labels placed on food packaging, to help curb sometimes fatal incidents of child choking.
