Friday

  • Another Hot Oklahoma Night Book Signing. Meet most of the 16 authors of this new book on the history of rock and roll in Oklahoma and hear live music from Jimmy Markham. 6pm, Ida Red Boutique on Brookside.
  • Eric Joyner Book Signing and Reception. Author and artist Eric Joyner will be signing his book, Robots and Donuts. And, yes, Eric Joyner happens to be one of my most favorite artists ever. 7pm, Dwelling Spaces in the Blue Dome District.
  • Rocket and the Queen of Dreams. A blend of shadow theatre, puppetry and live performance for the kiddies. Friday, 7pm; Saturday, 11am, Tulsa PAC.
  • Annie Get Your Gun. Clark Youth Theatre takes audiences back to the Wild West. Friday, 7:30pm, Saturday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 2pm.

Saturday
  • Scout Day at Tulsa Air and Space Museum. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and Campfire kids are invited to attend this event, which packs a variety of activities for those kids in our lives who are always prepared. Saturday, 10am-3pm, TASM.
  • Polar Plunge. Dive into an ice-cold pond to raise money for Special Olympics. 11am, Bass Pro Shops in Broken Arrow.
  • Momma's Saturday Book Club. Wanna hear me read Harry and Horsie? Then grab the kids and head to the Blue Dome District for some fun, food and prizes based on the book.
  • George Strait in Concert. With Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack, this country music concert couldn't get much more star-studded. 7pm, BOK Center.

Sunday
  • Super Shark Sunday. Let the kids test their shark smarts. Sunday, 10am-6pm, Oklahoma Aquarium.
  • Tulsa Oilers. Let the kids get in on a post-game skate with the players. 4pm, BOK Center.
  • Hometown Ho-Down with Green Country Rollergirls. You don't know the meaning of bloody knuckles until you've been to a GCR bout. 7pm, Broken Arrow Rollersports.
  • Yonder Mountain String Band. Get your fill of some fine pickin' on Sunday in Tulsa's own historic music hall. Sunday, 9pm, Cain's Ballroom.

All Weekend Long
  • Nat'l Rod and Custom Car Show. Get everything from custom cars and motorcycles to monster trucks and the Texas Bikini Team at this be-all-end-all car show. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Expo Square.
  • Green Country's Mid-South Tackle and Hunting Show. Get your Bluegrass and country music, more than 400 exhibits, giveaways for adults and kids and contests, demos and more, all just 20 minutes from downtown Tulsa, all weekend long. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Will Rogers Downs Event Center.

Movies
  • Shutter Island. Leo DiCaprio investigates a murderer's disappearance from a hospital for the criminally insane. Rated R for rrrawr.
  • Oscar Shorts. Forget the movie rental list a mile long - see what's important about the nominated films at Circle this weekend.
