If you were in middle or high school in 1976, you probably had a yearbook with a bicentennial theme - at least I did as an 7th grader in the suburbs outside of Detroit, Michigan.
And so did Rick Santorum.
How would I know what his yearbook looked like? Well, at a Santorum rally in northeast Atlanta on Thursday, a woman who knew Santorum from high school in Chicago showed up with their 1976 yearbook and got Santorum to autograph it.
Charlotte McLaughlin, who now lives outside of Atlanta, brought her Carmel Catholic High School yearbook to the Santorum rally, waited along the rope line, and got the candidate's John Hancock.
"It was Carmel girls and boys school," a smiling McLaughlin told me as she clutched her 35 year old yearbook - now updated with a certain signature.
You can see the red stripes on the sides of the yearbook covers, which were from the stripes of the American flag on the front and back of the book - a lot like my yearbook from 1976.
And look even more closely on the right, and you can see there's also a bit of blue from the background of the upper left of the flag where the stars are located.
McLaughlin told me she was a year behind Santorum in the Chicago catholic school.
As for what was inside, there were some giggles as a few people crowded around to get a look at Santorum's high school graduation year photo, where he is wearing a dress shirt with somewhat wide collars which seem to be bearing colorful roosters.
