For all those people who have emailed this week complaining about the lack of coverage on the Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA) story, I'm sorry you can't see the scene in the halls of Congress as reporters chase the Pennsylvania Democratic Congressman around.
Up in the Press Gallery, most of my colleagues think that there is a story here, though few expect the Obama Administration to shed much light on it on this Friday, when the betting would be that the White House drops a statement on the matter around 6:45 pm or so.
It was President Obama himself who opened the door to such a move as he made remarks Thursday on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
"There will be an official response shortly on the Sestak issue, which I hope will answer your questions,"
"From you, sir?" asked Major Garrett of Fox News.
"You will get it from my administration. And it will be coming out -- when I say "shortly," I mean shortly. I don't mean weeks or months," Mr. Obama added.
"Can you assure the public it was ethical and legal, sir?"
"I can assure the public that nothing improper took place. But, as I said, there will be a response shortly on that issue," said the President.
That certainly didn't end the story, as reporters searched high and low for Rep. Sestak and cornered him off the House floor in the Capitol.
He again refused to say who offered him what job in exchange for him getting out of the Pennsylvania Senate race.
Sestak of course stayed in that race, and defeated Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) last week.
Late Friday has always been a good day for a White House to make a document dump or to release a comment about some embarrassing story. Let's see if that gets repeated today.
This story isn't going away anytime soon.
