Former Oklahoma State coach Jimmy Johnson elected to College Football Hall of Fame

     NEW YORK (AP) _ The class of 2012 for the College Football Hall of Fame includes 14 former players and several coaches. Among the players chosen are Art Monk of Syracuse, Dave Casper of Notre Dame, Jonathan Ogden of UCLA, Charles Alexander of LSU, Steve Bartkowski of California and Tommy Kramer of Rice. 

 Former coaches Phillip Fulme, Jimmy Johnson and R.C. Slocum of Texas A&M also were selected.  It was announced Monday that Heisman Trophy winner and BYU star Ty Detmer was picked for the Hall of Fame.

Johnson is the fifth inductee with Oklahoma State credentials. he joins running backs Bob Fenimore, Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders as well as former coach Lynn "Pappy" Waldorf.
