Tulsa attorney Renee DeMoss is the new President of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the OBA Board of Governors in 2014.

On Friday, January 10, 2014, Ms. DeMoss and other new members of the Board were sworn in at the Oklahoma Supreme Court ceremonial courtroom at the State Capitol.

Ms. DeMoss was sworn in as President of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

She will serve as President of the OBA for a one year term.

Ms. DeMoss is a shareholder at the law firm of GableGotwals.

She has been an attorney for 30 years and her practice focuses on ERISA, and commercial and business litigation.

President DeMoss announced that educating the general public regarding how the courts in Oklahoma have a specific role in government is of the highest priority for the OBA during her term.

After being sworn in by Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Colbert, President DeMoss gave a brief speech.

“The OBA vision statement is that ‘…all people shall have access to, and full benefit of, the rule of law and the system of justice in Oklahoma.’

We lawyers must help educate Oklahomans on how our system of justice works, help preserve it, and ensure public confidence in it."
The OBA will institute a statewide Speaker's Bureau to help attorneys be able to educate the public on the unique place the judicial branch has in state government.

The OBA will hold a series of Town Hall meetings at courthouses throughout the state.

These Town Hall meetings will be open to the public to attend.
