Oklahoma FFA chapters are helping two of their own.
16-year-old Emily and 11-year-old Hallie Cooper lost both their mother and their father in a tragic 48 hour period.
Both girls were preparing for an FFA competition when their parents died suddenly.
Crystal Cooper, their mother, suffered a fatal heart attack while clipping show goats.
According to the girls’ aunt, Misty Griffith, “She was on the ground, she was just clipping goats and fell over. She said hold on and just fell over.”
The girls didn’t find out until the next morning that their mother had died.
Despite the news, Emily decided to still participate in a scheduled FFA competition later that day.
Emily won the show’s highest awards.
Then, just 48 hours after losing their mom, the girls got a phone call that their father, John Cooper, had died in a car accident.
That’s when the FFA community decided to put together an auction to help the girls.
The auction will feature a wide range of items, from livestock to paintings.
