Radical change author speaks at NSU

On April 7, 2014, NSU will have host Sam Bracken, author of “My Orange Duffel Bag: A Journey to Radical Change.”

He will give a keynote lecture on Monday, April 7 at 7 p.m. in the NSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Bracken will share his incredible story of how he overcame being knocked down time and time again while growing up.

His message will include seven rules for the road and lessons for being successful in life.

This author discusses how he was homeless at age 15, but managed to turn his life around and graduate 11th out of 700 students from his Las Vegas high school.

Braken also received a full-ride scholarship to The Georgia Institute of Technology and becoming successful in his own personal life.

The title of his graphic mini-memoir self-help book comes from the fact that when he came to Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga., everything he owned fit in an orange duffle bag.

Many NSU students are already familiar with Bracken’s book, as it was used as the common read in the fall semester by NSU’s President’s Leadership Class, RISE and the Honor’s Program.

Braken will have a book signing immediately following his lecture at the NSU RiverHawk Shoppe.

This event is sponsored by the NSU Foundation and Masonic Leadership Endowment.
