Power Company Preps for Possible Storms

Strong winds could certainly be part of the severe weather package that the Tulsa metro area gets Monday evening.  If we see winds in the 60 and 70 mile per hour area, then we could see power problems.  AEP-PSO's Andrea Chanchellor says the company takes steps now to assess and get ready.
"When we see weather coming our way we start to take an initial assessment: Where are our crews, who is out, who is on call and who can be reached and deployed as necessary," says Chancellor.
She says the company has meterologists on staff to track severe weather and what might happen.  Certainly, they are working Monday and she says PSO employees are taking steps to be as prepared as possible.
"We of couse encourage our employees to fill up their trucks and get ready should they be pulled into action after the storm actually hits and we can assess what happened to our system," says Chancellor.
She says the company expects weather in the Tulsa Metro area and McAlester but until the storm hits crews are on standby.
