Passenger Train Service Could Bypass Tulsa (Tulsa, OK) -- Tulsa could be railroaded once again. Kansas lawmakers are starting a joint feasibility study to extend passenger rail service from Oklahoma City to Newton, Kansas, bypassing the northeastern part of Oklahoma. State Representative Lucky Lamons calls that disheartening. He says Tulsa area legislators are watching the situation. Oklahoma transportation officials aren't abandoning the idea of connecting Tulsa to Oklahoma City by rail. If that happens, the option of having it run by the state instead of Amtrak is being considered.
