Police said the SUV was speeding when it went out of control hit a guardrail and flipped over, crashing into a pond with eight teenagers inside.

The owner of that SUV contacted police in Warren, Ohio, on Monday to file a stolen vehicle report.

Police have also confirmed that none of the people inside were wearing seat belts.

The dead passengers ranged from 14 to 19 years old.

Two of the eight were able to kick out a back window and swim to the shore of the pond before running to a house to call for help.
