TULSA —

A Tulsa woman admitted to a federal judge Tuesday that she stole packages from people's porches during the Christmas season last year.

Christa N. Gross, 33, entered a guilty plea after U.S. Attorneys named her in an indictment filed in January.

She admitted stealing mail from two residences in midtown Tulsa, and UPS or FedEx packages from several other homes over a period of about six weeks.

While the thefts involving private carriers are not covered by federal law, stealing mail is, and she faces up to six months in federal prison.

She was arrested after several people complained about missing packages, and some noted a woman riding in the area on a scooter.

Gross is scheduled to appear for sentencing June 26.
