UPDATE:  U.S Highway 169 is re-opened in both directions as of 6:30pm.

******************

You have certainly noticed the wind and cold front that blew through the area earlier this afternoon.

It brought some severe storms to the north of Tulsa  Couty.

KRMG has reports of wind overturning semis, bringing down power lines and toppling trees.

All lanes of U.S. 169 both northbound and southbound are closed north of Nowata due to wind damage as of 4:30pm.

The closure is expected to last several hours and drivers are urged to use SH-28 and US-60 as a detour.

Traffic on the Will Rogers Turnpike near Miami is also impacted because of a semi trailer blown across the concrete barrier and into the eastbound lanes.
