The line at the post office may soon get longer after the announcement that one location in Tulsa, and dozens of others across the state of Oklahoma, are on a list to possibly close.
The total nationwide is 3,700 post offices.
The announcement came Tuesday morning after the United States Post Office studied which locations could close.
The plan is to start the closing process in March.
The location in Tulsa is near 41st and I-244.
Post office officials are reviewing another 16,000.
That's half of the nation's existing post offices.
They are lobbying Congress to change the law so it can close the most unprofitable locations.
The law currently allows the postal service to close them only for maintenance problems, lease expirations or other reasons that don't include profitability.
