TULSA —
The victim of a home invasion apparently decided to dish out a little justice Monday evening, smashing the suspect in the head with a plate before someone else grabbed a handgun and chased him out of the house.
According to an affidavit obtained by KRMG, it happened a little after 8:30 p.m. Monday evening in the 12200 block of E. 39th St.
Police say Jason Manns "opened an unlocked door and entered the residence."
He "did not have permission to enter and was not known to the residents," the affidavit states, adding that Manns "entered the living room and was discovered by one of the residents. The resident instructed the subject to leave. The subject then aggressively charged at the resident. The resident hit the subject with a plate."
As they struggled, another resident of the home produced a handgun and the suspect ran away.
Police say he then went to another home just around the corner, in the 3900 block of S. 122nd E. Ave.
He smashed a window and entered that home, and was discovered by a female resident.
He chased her through and out of the home; as she ran, she dialed 911.
The suspect was found minutes later by officers at the intersection of E. 41st St. and S. 123rd E. Ave. and arrested.
Manns was booked on two counts of first-degree burglary, and is jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $40,000.
