A chimpanzee at the Tulsa zoo is dead.

20-year-old Alvin died from what appears to be heart disease.

He was actually involved in a fight Saturday with the other chimpanzees and was injured.

The veterinarian for the Tulsa Zoo says his wounds were severe, but survivable.

A necropsy revealed AlvinĀ had heart disease and evidence of some kidney function impairment.

He died on Tuesday.

Alvin is the father of two baby chimps born at the Tulsa Zoo, 5-year-old Vindi and 4-year-old Bernsen.
