Tulsa viewers could lose popular TV channels

Cox Communications is taking the first steps in the transition from analog to digital channels.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, five channels on the Cox lineup will flip from analog to digital. This may require action by some customers.

Animal Planet, A&E, E!, Food Network and TV Land will no longer work for customers who don’t have some sort of digital receiver.

If you do not have a digital receiver (a cable box), you’ll need to either sign up for digital service or call Cox for a free ‘mini-box.’ If you’re affected by the change, you will see instructions on your screen if you try those channels.

If you already have digital receivers on all of your TVs, this change will not affect you.

Note: Cox will provide one free mini-box for one year to all customers. If you don't have any receivers in your home now, you can get two free mini-boxes for one year.

Cox told KRMG five more channels will be flipped to digital in June. All broadcast television channels will go digital in July then ALL Cox channels will be digital by sometime in August.
