Tulsa, Okla. —

From the Tulsa Police Department:

The Tulsa Police Department will add 25 police officers to the force and two fire marshalls will be added to the Tulsa Fire Department on Friday, June 1, 2012.

The graduation ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at the Tulsa Police Training Academy, 6066 E. 66th St. North.

The recruits started their 26-week training on December 1, 2011.

They have completed more than 867 hours of instruction, which included legal, firearms, defensive tactics, driver’s training, report writing and officer survival.

Following Friday’s graduation, the recruits will transition to Officers in Training and will complete a 16-week training program with Field Training Officers.

The Officers in Training will train in each of the department’s patrol divisions: Gilcrease Division, Mingo Valley Division, and Riverside Division.

Upon completion of field training, the new officers will be assigned to fill vacancies in the patrol divisions.
