TULSA, Okla. —

The Victory Christian Center sex scandal has many organizations across Tulsa on edge.

Corporal Greg Smith with the Tulsa Police Department's Child Crisis Unit says he's seen an increase in calls since the reported rape at Victory. Smith says, "I know several officers have called me to get the specific details on the law and the procedure because they have been asked by organizations that are familiar with them to say a few words or to meet with some of their staff."

State law requires anyone that suspects child abuse to report it promptly. Cpl. Smith says Victory employees were anything but prompt by waiting several weeks to report the alleged rape and clearly violated the law.

Smith says the best way to follow the law is to report suspected abuse as soon as possible. Smith says, "On sexual abuse cases, we have evidence that goes away after three days and physical abuse, you have bruises and other injuries that need to be documented. Those also go away rather quickly."

Paul Wilemstein, Anna George, Harold (Frank) Sullivan, Charica Daugherty and John Daugherty each face one count of failure to report child abuse. All have pleaded not guilty. They are all due back in court October 31st.

As KRMG reported Monday, Wilemstein, George, Sullivan and Charica and John Daugherty have been disciplined by Victory and will return to work later this month.
