TULSA, Okla. —

After Monday's execution-style slayings at a south Tulsa apartment complex, Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett is calling for action.

Tulsa Police identified the women as 23-year-old Rebeika Powell, 23-year-old Kayetie Melchor, 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 55-y-ear-old Julie Jackson.

The four women were shot to death at the Fairmont Terrace apartments near 61st & Peoria. Tulsa Police say they found a survivor at the crime scene -- a four-year-old boy.

Bartlett released a statement Tuesday afternoon. It says:

“We are within 24-hours of this terrible tragedy. We are looking down every possible avenue for answers to how this situation can be improved in this area of the city. From abatement issues to out of state ownership and management, this issue will remain on the top of my list moving forward.

Although, there have been seven homicides this year, the homicide rate for Tulsa is the lowest it has been in ten years and the Tulsa Police Department is at full strength for the first time in three years.

The Tulsa Police Department is known for their quick efforts of finding perpetrators and I have no doubt that they will live up to their stellar reputation for these cases.”
