Tulsa man arrested after pointing BB gun at person

By Steve Berg

Tulsa, Okla. —

Some people in West Tulsa got a scare after a man pointed a realistic-looking BB gun at them and said words to the effect of "today would be a good day to die", according to police reports.

The incident happened in the area around West 51st and Union Sunday afternoon.

Police say 50-year-old Rodney Ervin Logan pointed a gun at someone, made the ominous remark, and walked in the general direction of a nearby Mazzio's restaurant, according to witnesses.

Police located Logan in the area around 2400 West 50th St. and located the BB gun and a half-consumed bottle of liquor.

They say he was intoxicated and distraught, saying he just wanted to talk to someone.

He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a complaint of public intoxication.

Nobody was hurt.
