TULSA, Okla. —

Tulsa International Airport just launched the Tulsa Regional Air Service Initiative.

KRMG is told the plan is to gather travel related data from area businesses, attractions, chambers of commerce, etc. in order to put together a comprehensive presentation for airlines regarding our market’s true potential.

The Initiative is a multi-faceted approach to air service development that includes community education, data gathering to determine the needs and identify corporations that would support route development, evaluation of community incentive programs for both Tulsa and peer airports to determine the role of incentives in Tulsa’s air service development efforts, sharing of information with airlines, and then adjusting the strategy as community needs and airline growth strategies change.

Alexis Higgins, spokesperson for Tulsa International Airport, says one of the first steps is to gather information from area businesses as to their current and projected travel needs.

TIA officials are asking everyone to take a 20 question survey about your current and projected travel needs and preferences.
