Thanksgiving means food, family, and football. Unfortunately it can also mean disaster. Every year hundreds of fires are started across the United States by cooking accidents. None can get out of hand as quickly as frying a turkey.

Tulsa Firefighters are noted for their Thanksgiving Day Family Dinners at the Fire Station. In this video they share a few secrets on what not to do. Improperly thawed turkeys, overheated oil, poor location or even too much oil can each cause a fire sure to ruin your holiday. There were over 1000 turkey fryer incidents in the U.S. last year causing property loss and personal injury.
