Tulsa, Okla. —

Rescuers from the Tulsa Fire Department pulled a man out of a storm drain in south Tulsa near 81st and Sheridan Saturday night.

A neighbor who witnessed the rescue says that the man told rescuers that he entered the drain Thursday night.

Terry Arnold says he and his wife were out for a walk Saturday night when they saw the fire rescuers lower a narrow ladder into a storm drain.

The man in the drain "heard some kids playing in the yard above the drain and started to yell for help," Arnold said.

"Another neighbor heard voices coming from the drain and called the fire department. He (the man pulled from the drain) actually looked pretty good."

EMSA paramedics responded to the location, treated the man at the scene and transported him to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition.

The name of the victim has not been released.
