Tulsa Chief Information Officer quits instead of being fired

Tom Golliver was scheduled for pre-termination hearing this week

By Chris Cordt

TULSA, Okla. —

Tulsa Chief Information Officer Tom Golliver is resigning instead of facing a pre-termination hearing.

Golliver has been on paid administrative leave since October after the city's web site was down for 3 weeks.

The outage was originally believed to be the work of hackers. An investigation revealed that the breach actually came from an outside firm hired by the city to test the web site's security.

More controversy came when tens of thousands of dollars were spent to send notices to about 90,000 people who had applied for a job with the city or had submitted a crime report online. Those notices informed them that their personal information may have been compromised.

Those notices ended up being for not since no information was compromised.

Tulsa Police Maj. Jonathan Brooks has been leading the city's IT department on an interim basis until a replacement for Golliver is hired.

City spokesperson Michelle Allen tells KRMG that a top-down review has been ordered.

Golliver's last day is slated for December 31st.
