Devastation in Creek County; the Governor's visit
Aftermath of the wildfires of Aug. 3rd and 4th, 2012 in Creek County. This area is between Hwy 33 and 51st Street, near Hwy 48. Gov. Mary Fallin and several state officials toured the area.

Do you happen to have a trailer you would be willing to temporarily loan it to someone who lost their home in the Creek County wildfire?

Mannford City Manager Mike Nunley says they don't have to be fancy.

"All that we ask is hopefully that they have an air conditioner in them and that's about it because there's shower facilities at all of tjhese campsites," Nunley says.

By "these campsites," he's referring to places like the Salt Creek Campground in Mannford and the Heyburn Lake campsite.

"There were a lot of homes destroyed in the Olive School District down on Highway 33 toward Drumright. And Heyburn Lake is between Highway 33 and 66 just east of Highway 48 and they have campsites available there, too."

Nunley says if you have a trailer you can loan and would like to help, call the Army Corps of Engineers Keystone Office at 918-865-2621.
