The first “early release Friday” for Tulsa Public Schools is this week.

Students will be released two hours early.

Release times vary by school and can be found on the “My Child’s School” page under “Parents” on the TPS website.

Students will get lunch before they leave.

Buses will run generally two hours earlier than the regularly-scheduled time.

Parents are responsible for their own child care arrangements.

TPS after-school child care programs will still be available for those students who are already enrolled in them.

Early release is designed for teachers, staff and administrators to have additional time to engage in Professional Learning Communities where effective teaching methods and techniques can be studied and shared.

The goal is to improve student achievement.

The dates for early release for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year are as follows:
