A slick pavement gets blamed after an SUV driver hits a power pole and a gas meter.

The lights flickered around 15th and Delaware when the crash happened about midnight Wednesday morning.

Gary Kruse with the News On 6 tells us the driver "scraped one utility pole and crashed into a second, coming to rest against a parked pickup truck. As a result of the crash, the second pole snapped but fortunately no lines hit the ground."

The driver was not injured, but he did get a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.

A PSO crew arrived, but decided they would work to repair the power pole later since the crash caused no power lines to fall.
