TULSA, Okla. —

Tulsa Police and the medical examiner are investigating after a 5-month-old boy died at the Sandy Park Apartments at 11th St and S. 61st West Ave.

EMSA paramedics were called to the scene around 6:30 A.M. to a call of a baby not breathing.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the baby dead at the scene.

Tulsa Police homicide and child crisis detectives were called to the scene to investigate.

TPD's Leland Ashley tells KRMG that the boy had some injuries which spurred the investigation.

Ashley says, "We're told by the father that the baby fell out of the crib onto the floor. There was some bruising and we can't determine at this time if its related to the fall or something else."

The medical examiner has removed the child's body and will determine the cause and manner of death.

Ashley says the boy's mother, father and grandmother, as well as an older brother and sister, were in the apartment at the time.

Ashley says they have cooperated with investigators.

Detectives have finished interviewing the family and are waiting on the M.E.'s report before determining if any arrests need to be made.
