Suspect is killed in a trooper-involved shooting

We've learned one suspect is dead and another is in jail, after a trooper-involved shooting in Okmulgee County Friday night.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say troopers arrived at Hectorville Road and Bixby Road around 9:40 p.m. and came into contact with the two suspects.   Both men were said to be trying to push a vehicle out of high waters.

We're told the troopers made several attempts to convince the men to stop, due to the rushing water.

What exactly happened next, is still under investigation.

We do know a physical altercation ensued and a trooper was assaulted.  During this time, at least one of the troopers fired a shot.

OHP says one of the suspects was hit and killed.

The other man was arrested and taken to the Okmulgee County Jail.  No word on what charges he faces.

So far, no names have been released.
