TULSA —

The Sullivan for Congress campaign has refused to retract or withdraw any of its statements regarding the tenure of political foe Jim Bridenstine's tenure as former Director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.

Despite statements from a board member and attorney for TASM to the contrary, John Tidwell of the Sullivan campaign says they stand by statements that Bridenstine's time at the museum was marked by a sharp decline in revenues, attendance and membership.

He quotes another TASM board member, James E. Bertelsmeyer, as saying, "As a long time supporter of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum (TASM), it is my opinion that the best day for the museum was the day that Jim Bridenstine left. While these issues have since been corrected by his successor, during Jim's tenure at TASM, as I recall, the membership numbers were down, employee and volunteer morale was very low and the finances and certainly the financial reporting were arguably the worst they had been in recent years," says the statement attributed to Bertelsmeyer and emailed to KRMG by Tidwell.
