The State School Board is cutting funding for the $457-million activities fund budget.

That's a program that covers alternative education and reading sufficiency for students.

Members also voted yesterday to provide money for a professional development program for teachers and the first robotics competition.

The Board tells us the cuts are due to a lack of education funding by the State Legislature.

Tulsa Superintendent Keith Ballard says the cuts could cause significant changes for the Tulsa district.
