TULSA —

A stabbing in a north Tulsa neighborhood turned deadly late Friday afternoon.

The incident began shortly after 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of E. Haskell St. and N. Peoria Ave., a few blocks north of Interstate 244.

Cpl. Tami Manz told KRMG at the scene that officers arrived very quickly.  Officers took 55-year-old Dennis Daney into custody for first-degree murder.

A possible murder weapon, a knife, was also recovered at the scene.

Police have not released the name of the victim, pending notification of family members.

Cpl. Manz said he was a 31-year-old man.

Witnesses told police the suspect and victim got into a fight.  Police say the victim then staggered away and collapsed.

This is the tenth homicide of the year in Tulsa.
