Tulsa, Okla. —

New technology aims to make ticketing drivers who pass stopped school buses easier.

The Edmond School District uses exterior cameras on its buses. Tulsa Public Schools does not.

TPS officials tell KRMG that the district doesn't have plans to add them either.

Rosalyn Vann-Jackson with TPS says her drivers are the district's eyes and ears.

Vann-Jackson says drivers write down the license plate number and a description of law-breaking vehicles.

That information is given to the Tulsa Police Department.

Passing a school bus with its stop sign extended could cost your drivers license, in addition to a $200 dollar fine.

Roughly half of TPS buses have interior cameras right now.

Vann-Jackson tells KRMG that the district plans to use bond money to finish equipping the rest of the fleet.
