It looks like Senator Tom Coburn won’t get to celebrate July 4th with Oklahomans after all.
Wednesday the U.S. Senate decided not to recess for the holiday to work on a debt limit deal.
They were supposed to take a ten day break.
That means the three town hall meetings Sen. Coburn had planned for next week, including one in Tulsa, are cancelled.
KRMG’s Washington Watchdog Jamie Dupree says many of the senators won’t be part of the budget talks, even though they will have to be there.
The Tulsa town hall meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, at 7:00PM at Union High School's Performing Arts Center.
There’s no word if the meetings will be rescheduled.
